Orange County limo-Get a safe ride or get a DUI!

Nearly 665 people were arrested in Orange County for drunk driving during a recent 3-week crackdown by the CHP according to the Orange County Register.  Including 56 over the Labor Day weekend alone!  The good news is that nobody was killed during that time period on Orange County freeways.

665 people crazy enough not to find a solution to drinking and driving.  Have a designated driver, walk, take a cab, spend the night where you are, get a hotel room, get an Orange County limo - but for God's sake - do not drink and drive!

Orange county limo instead of a dui

Take a OC limo to avoid-July 4th DUI Arrests | DUI driving a bicycle?

The good news is that slightly fewer people were arrested for driving under the influence on Orange County freeways this July 4th weekend over last year.  According to the Orange County Register - the CHP arrested 51 in Orange County for DUI between 6 p.m. Friday and midnight Monday. No one was killed in CHP jurisdiction, the CHP said.

Last year, 57 people were arrested for DUI during the same period. There were no fatalities. Fourth of July weekend was a maximum enforcement period for the California Highway Patrol. All available officers were out on the road during the weekend looking for dangerous motorists.

While on the topic of DUIs because bicycles are so popular here in beautiful O.C. - we went to Huntington Beach for dinner on Friday and were amazed at the number of bikes - people just pedel to the local bar and then pedal home.  We figured that possibly cops look the other way because who can bike riders really hurt "drunk riding" - besides themselves. But I just read about some weird DUI cases from TotalDUI.com - a guy was actually arrested for DUI in a wheelchair and another in a golf cart.

Continue to be careful out there - get a cab, stay at a friend's house or rent a limo or Towncar instead of drinking and driving!

DUI Orange County-repeat offenders never learn!

Some people just never learn - even when they smack into a patrol car parked at a red light!  In Laguna Hills last night at 1:58 am a driver was taken into custody on suspicion of driving under the influence after, officials said, he rear-ended a deputy's car that was stopped at a red light.

No one was injured in the crash, but the Laguna Niguel man was asked to take a field-sobriety test after the crash and failed, said Lt. Jim England of the Orange County Sheriff's Department.

The suspect, a Mr. Banir Ganatra, 32, has had multiple charges of DUI and other driving issues.  Ganatra was driving a 2008 Mercedes-Benz.

I gotta ask - if he has enough money to drive a 2008 Mercedes-Benz (in my opinion a nice car) - why doesn't this repeat offender have enough money to pay for a taxi or chauffeured transportation in Orange County?

Before you get behind the wheel if you've been drinking ask yourself if the risks are worth the punishment.  I've heard reported that a DUI in Orange County costs in the neighborhood of $10,000!  An Orange County Limo would be around $400 (depending on hours an distance)!

Drunk Drivers be warned half a million going toward crackdown before end of year!

Drunk driving California

Going to Holiday Parties or celebrating the New Year this next few weeks?  Going to be drinking?  Better not be driving in the Orange County area as police are planning a big crackdown.

According to the Orange County Register over $400,000 will go to local cities for DUI checkpoints, extra patrols, search warrants and suspended-license stings.

Drunk driving deaths have fallen - but several cities are still not doing well - according to the OC Register "Santa Ana had the fifth-worst ranking among the state's 13 biggest cities, adjusted for its population. Anaheim ranked No. 8. Costa Mesa had the second-worst ranking, given its population, when compared to 52 similarly sized cities; and Newport Beach was third-worst in its size category."

So betcha that those cities will notice a heavier police presense on these big holiday-party nights.  Watch out - and if you are going to drive - consider renting a limo, party bus, SUV or sedan from In The Scene Limousine California.

DUI in Orange County California-chances just got greater to happen!

DUI Orange County CA

Your chances of getting caught driving while drinking just got higher if you live in Orange County California.  The Orange County Sheriff's Department just was granted an additional $1 million to catch intoxicated drivers.

One-day enforcement blitzes in 2010 are scheduled for Super Bowl Sunday, St. Patrick's Day, and Cinco de Mayo. Multiday efforts are set for Independence Day and Memorial Day weekends. Another long campaign is planned for August and September.

According to Sgt. Jerry Britain, of the Sheriff's Department's Traffic Bureau, which will oversee the grant's administration, the Sheriff's office will also coordinate with the city Police for local events and of course a long enforcement blitz over the holidays from December 18th through January 3rd drunk drivers better watch it on the roads of OC.

The Orange County Register reports that "alcohol-related traffic fatalities in Orange County fell to 46 in 2008 from 56 a year earlier, according to the NHTSA. Statewide, DUI deaths fell 9 percent to 1,029."  So it shows that enforcement and crackdowns work and help the numbers trend in the right direction.

Drunk Driving from Venice Beach down to San Clemente

Drunk Driving picture

My friends were in Los Angeles for the USC game Labor Day weekend.  They had a blast at the game and then headed to the Supergirl Jam Snowboard event where they had actual snow and a 35 foot rail on Venice Beach and ladies competed for over $36,000 in prizes.

My friends drank a lot while spending the day watching the awesome activities.  And then they decided to grab a bottle of liquour and pound shots before they headed down to meet us in San Clemente - a good 1 hour 20 minute drive from Venice Beach.  We don't drink and they didn't want the buzz to end.  We were going to Fisherman's Wharf on the Pier so they could have grabbed more cocktails at Fisherman's and we could of drove them.  But since they had too many drinks I guess they weren't thinking straight.

So they drove down the busy freeway - Phoenix visitors - drunk.  This would be the 3rd DUI for one of these friends.  I guess he isn't learning.  At all.  I just read this post in the OC Register about how a 38 year old woman was thrown from the car at 8:45 pm last night on the south coast Highway and is in critical condition.  The male driver is arrested for DUI.  It reminded me of my friends.  I guess it is going to take killing or seriously hurting somebody for this friend to figure it out that drinking and driving is wrong.

We had a sit down with him that night.  Told him he just isn't getting it.  That we would have driven up to Venice Beach to get their car and drive them safely down to stay with us in San Clemente.  We own a limo company - good friends of his - we take it seriously having a safe ride.  This friend has a 6 year old beautiful daughter.  I hope he lives to see her 7th birthday.
